Comments

When visitors over the age of 13 leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. 

Anyone under the age of 13 may not leave comments or request information without the permission of their parents.  This is for their safety online.

In compliance with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) and all European legislation currently in force, only the parents and legal guardians are permitted to give identifiable information concerning of children 13 and under: To comply with these laws, we have created the gardening & travel website (GardenWanderer.com) with content for ages 13 and above.  Any attempt to circumvent this intention to protect children through comments or spamming is not allowed.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading any images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. EXIF is a set of various pieces of information that are automatically embedded into the image upon creation. This can include GPS position, camera manufacturer, date and time, etc. Suspicious visitors to any website can download and extract any location data from images on any website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
